GETTING STARTED
Progression
100 levels instead of the old 600. Levels 1 to 60 need 1.3 times the vanilla experience; from 61 on every level costs 4.5 % more than the one before, and you reach level 100 at 59.5 million experience in all. Attributes go up to 40, and at 30 and at 40 every attribute grants an extra perk (shown as a buff icon) – for example +100 and +150 health for Vitality, +100 carry capacity and +10 % kill experience for Expertise. Admins can move the maximum level between 60 and 150 and the thrall maximum between 20 and 100 (VAM 2.0 settings, page Levels). Press Shift+P to open this window.
Level Rewards
27 gifts on the way to the maximum level, from level 10 to 100 on a standard server (they move with the maximum level the admin sets) – 13 of them with Valkyrian Tokens on top. Claim each one on the Rewards page of this window once you reach its level; claimed rewards go straight to your backpack. They come back with every Ouroboros cycle: chests, bags and crates in larger amounts (x2 in the second cycle, x3 in the third, at most x4), heart and heartstone again, one each, pets, the warhammer and the sword blueprint only in your first cycle.
Ouroboros
At the maximum level (100 unless the server changed it) you can complete a cycle on the Ouroboros page. You start again at level 1: attributes and talents you bought with talent points are reset, while professions, inspiration, tokens, cards and items stay. Your ring and title change, you choose one of three Ouroboros cards (Reroll offer draws three new ones for tokens) and receive the cycle's rewards. A card stays forever - the same card can be taken up to three times. At 20, 40, 60 and 80 % of the maximum level (levels 20, 40, 60 and 80 by default) you also pick a milestone card at half strength; milestone cards end when the cycle is completed.
Valkyrian Tokens
The mod's reward currency. Coins remain the money for trade, repairs and drills. Bounties, contracts, profession stages and level rewards pay tokens; spend them in the Shop tab of this window, in the bounty shop and on Ouroboros card rerolls. Tokens cannot be sold at the Auction House.
Numbers on a standard server (admins can change them): bounties pay at most 400 tokens per day; the count resets at 04:00 server time. The profession shop and the bounty shop multiply their base prices by the shop factor (standard 3) - the price you see already includes it - and articles of your own profession cost 10 % less per profession stage you hold, up to 40 %. Daily limits in the profession shop: 5 crates, 3 potions or kits, 3 repair kits, 2 mythic bar packs. A card reroll costs 25 tokens, the second one in a cycle 50.
Inspiration
Discoveries earn inspiration points in five accounts: Crafting, Building, Killing, Religion and Nature. The 1st, 10th, 100th and 1,000th piece of an item that newly reaches your backpack each give a point, as far as the item's stack size allows, and so does the 1st, 10th, 100th and 1,000th kill of each kind of enemy. At 10, 30, 70 and 150 points an account reaches a milestone with a lasting bonus, and some milestones teach talents for free once your level allows.
On the Inspiration tab (Shift+P) you spend points on boosters of five cards; higher booster tiers need a higher character level. Set your best cards into your deck: a card takes effect after a short attunement, and only one card of each motif fits. Three copies upgrade to the next rarity, spare cards can be dismantled for points, and Seal turns a card into an item you can sell or mail; Redeem sealed cards puts it back into a collection.

WORK & CRAFT
Professions
Miner, Woodsman, Hunter, Smith, Provisioner and Builder rise by doing the work. Every stage at 30, 60, 90 and 100 brings new recipes, tokens and a lasting bonus; many stages also open talents. All six share a pool of 250 levels, and only one of them can go above 90.
The advanced VAM workbenches come with the talent Advanced VAM Workbenches (level 62). It needs the talent Simple VAM Workbenches (level 60) and a master woodsman (Woodsman level 100). Build each advanced bench at its simple bench from 100 Glowing Blue Gems, 50 Insulated Wood and 20 Corrupted Stone.
Resources and Profession XP
Each profession grows from its own work. Miner: stone, ore and ice. Woodsman: trees, wood and bark. Provisioner: plants, bones, feathers and shells, and cooking. Hunter: every wild animal you kill, and the work at tanneries, animal pens and traps. Smith: crafting at smithing benches. Builder: crafting building pieces at benches; placing them gives no XP.
Gathering pays per hit, crafting by the time a recipe takes, so a busy station keeps earning. When the shared pool of 250 levels is full, or another profession is already above 90, a level is held back, but your XP is kept. On the Professions page (Shift+P) each craft has an arrow you can click: Rising crafts gain levels, Held crafts keep their level and save their XP in a reserve, and Lowering crafts give levels to rising ones when the pool is full. Admins can raise or lower profession XP.
Glowing gems come from Crystal Rocknoses: they walk among ordinary rocknose herds, and each colour carries its own gem. Valkyrian Shards drop from rift chests; the Grinder talent teaches their recipes.
Crafting Quality
Crafted weapons and armor roll a tier: Junk, Common, Uncommon, Rare or Epic. The tier scales their stats. Tools roll only when the game counts them as weapons, like the crystal picks; pickaxes, hatchets, sickles, cleavers and skinning knives keep their normal stats. Vanilla recipes never roll below their normal quality unless the server allows it. VAM gear of item tier 4 and up, such as arsenal and reforged pieces, never rolls Junk.
A crafter thrall at the station lowers the roll by 5 % per thrall tier, up to 20 % at tier 4. In effect every tier above Junk becomes 25 % more likely. With the standard chances, Junk drops from 40 to 25 % and Epic rises from 1 to 1.25 %.
Crafted gear also rolls 0 to 3 rune sockets. Without a guaranteed minimum, 7 in 16 pieces get no socket (43.75 %), 5 in 16 get one, 3 in 16 get two and 1 in 16 gets three. Arsenal pieces get at least two sockets, reforged and elder pieces always three.
The Elder Forge rolls its own tier from 1 to 5 for the elder weapons instead of the normal quality; only the Elder Scythe rolls the normal quality like other weapons. With the standard chances 75 % of the elder weapons come out at tier 1, then 14, 6, 3.5 and 1.5 %; admins set the chances on the Elder Forge page. A tiered elder weapon deals the damage of the reforged weapon of its kind, times 0.9, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 by tier. Its weight is the normal value, its durability up to twice the normal maximum. The quality seal shows elder tiers 1 to 5 with the five stones from Junk to Epic. The forge comes with the talent Elder Forging (level 78, needs Woodsman level 100) and with every reforged arsenal. Elder weapons made before this update keep their old values.
Alchemy and Elder Forge
The Alchemy talent (level 10) teaches the Alchemist's Cauldron. Fill it with a Water-filled Glass Flask and up to four ingredients; a base (Firewater, Oil or Blood) and an additive are optional. Two ingredients that share an effect reveal it, and every discovery is written into your Alchemy Book. The third and fourth ingredient slots open at Provisioner level 30 and 60, and the ingredients work differently on every server.
Every potion adds two stacks of Toxicity, a tincture one and a blood draught none: from twelve stacks no further potion works until your blood clears, and Second Wind can save you only once every 10 minutes.
Your first brew: drag a Water-filled Glass Flask into the round FLASK slot and two different ingredients into the first two ingredient slots, then press Brew - even when no shared effect is known yet. Recipes are never given; you find them by brewing. Two ingredients that share a hidden effect make a potion; if they share nothing you get Murky Sludge - that happens often and is not a fault. A single ingredient makes a tincture and reveals its first effect. Firewater, Oil and Blood need an empty Glass Flask instead of a water-filled one. Effects you have found appear in your Alchemy Book; two ingredients with the same known effect always brew something with that effect.
The Elder Forge is taught by the talent Elder Forging (level 78, Woodsman level 100) and by every Reforged arsenal talent. It makes the Reforged arsenals and the Elder weapons. An Elder weapon rolls a tier from 1 to 5 and hits like the Reforged weapon of its kind, 0.9 to 1.3 times as hard.
Runes
Runes are forged at the Rune Forge and set into weapons, armor, shields and tools at the Rune Anvil, where they also come out again without being lost. The Smith talent Rune Smith teaches the first two rune tiers and the rune blades; the nine strongest runes come with the master talents of the professions and also drop from bosses and vaults, and Rune Stone Bags hold runes as well. Each rune fits only its kind of item - weapon, armor, shield or tool - and an item takes one rune of each family (Sharpness I and II count as one). Crafted pieces roll 0 to 3 sockets (Arsenal pieces at least 2, Reforged and Elder pieces 3); high-tier pieces found as loot come with 3. The Rune Chisel (Smith level 60) opens a fourth socket on an item with exactly three, the Greater Rune Chisel (Smith level 90) a fifth on an item with exactly four - five is the most.
Reforging a weapon, turning it into a two-hander or building it into a guardian uses the item up. Its runes and opened sockets are lost, so take the runes out at the Rune Anvil first.
Accessories
Back, Neck, Wrist and two Ring slots sit in your inventory beside the armor slots - drag an item onto its slot or right-click it to wear it, right-click a slot to take it off.
Wings are for show: the Magic Wings and the Equivocus Wings do not let you fly. With the thrall Sarpendon at the Elder Forge you can craft the four Magic Wings, each from 10 Mythical Power Crystals; the Equivocus Wings come only as an admin spawn (item 90999358).
Farming
Seeds, planters and the kitchen were reworked - the crops and dishes are worth their time again.
Themed Storage
Every box accepts only its own category. The Builder talent Specialist Storage (level 8, Builder level 30) teaches the wooden boxes with 48 slots, and the talent Storage Master adds six themed chests. At Builder level 60 the Large Crates follow – the same themes with 90 slots – and at Builder level 90 the Strongboxes with 300 slots each; the storage chests of earlier versions became Strongboxes. Benches and PvE building reach into boxes up to 40 m away; admins can raise that range.

WORLD
Bounty Board
The board stands in Sepermeru, in front of the south gate. Hand in the heads of slain beasts and bosses, take contracts, climb 60 ranks and buy from its shop with tokens.
Every head you hand in pays Valkyrian Tokens: ordinary beasts 1, kings and alphas 3, bosses 5, the mod's own trophy heads more. You can earn at most 400 tokens from bounties per day (server setting); the count resets at 04:00 server time. A stack of heads is only taken when its full value still fits today's rest; otherwise the board hands it back to you. You hold one contract at a time; a contract worth 40 tokens or more locks its target for 12 hours. A finished contract that no longer fits today's rest waits until 04:00. The board shop opens its wares by rank.
Trade
At the Auction House you list items for a fixed price or as an auction, search the offers, bid and buy. Prices are in gold, silver and bronze (1 G = 100 S, 1 S = 10 B): type them into the G | S | B fields - 140 S turns into 1 G 40 S by itself. An overbid must be at least 5 % higher (at least 1 S). Your purse at the Auction House and at mailboxes holds coins of every kind, weighs nothing and pays first; coins in your bag cover the rest, change goes back into the purse. Gold coins leave the purse only up to the gold you put in, the rest is paid in silver. Vanilla traders only take coins from your bag. A sale pays into your purse minus the Auction House fee (5 % unless the admin changed it); listing costs 1 % up front, at least 1 S. Mailboxes send letters, items and coins to other players. Allied clans trade without the fee - set alliances under Diplomacy in the clan window.
Every character can build a mailbox at the Artisan Table. A letter arrives at once, even when the recipient is offline, and can carry up to six item slots and coins; coins go straight into the recipient's purse. You send and fetch letters only within 15 metres of a mailbox, one letter per second, and a player whose mailbox already holds 200 letters of any kind gets no more letters from other players. Empty letters are kept 30 days; a letter that still holds items stays until you take them. If your backpack is full, whatever does not fit stays in the letter. Sending costs nothing.
Travel
The old hub and its portals are gone; Heartstones take you home. The first use binds the stone to the spot where you stand, every later use brings you back there, and after each journey the stone needs 30 minutes to recover. The Single Use Heartstone works once, the Heartstone ten times and the Permanent Heartstone for good. All three are made at the Thaumaturgy Bench once you know the Sorcery talent Heartstone Binding (level 60, needs Basic Sorcery), and Builders can buy them in their profession shop from Builder level 30. For routes your clan shares, build Transportory Stones as in the base game.
Bosses can drop figurines of ancient beasts. Offer one at the Sunken Pool of the Ancients in the southern desert to call its beast back – be ready to fight it.
Clans and War
Every clan has a treasury in the Bank tab of the clan window. Members deposit coins, officers withdraw up to a daily share (25 % unless the admin changed it), the leader without limit. Alliances are set under Diplomacy: allied clans trade without the Auction House fee. Declaring war costs silver from the treasury - 20 S plus 2 S per member of the enemy clan, at most 200 S - and the same two clans can only start a new war after 48 hours.
Open the clan window, choose the Territories tab and click Open the war table – or press E at a War Table. Your clan buys its first zone with silver from the clan treasury.
Thralls and Drill
Human thralls that follow you can be drilled in the follower window: Shieldmaiden Drill I, II and III cost 50, 200 and 800 silver and add 7 % health and damage each. Valkyries and animals cannot be drilled. Thralls and pets level up to 40 and roll six perks on the way (levels 10, 15, 20, 30, 35, 40); the follower window shows all of them. A captured Primarch keeps the extra health of an elite.
Ancient Bosses and Valkyries
The Valkyries live among the vanilla factions – the Votaries at the volcano, the Heirs of the North, the Lemurians, the Black Hand, the Dogs of the Desert, the Forgotten Tribe, the Exiles and the Relic Hunter plunderers; on the Isle of Siptah among the Obsidian Ones, Invaders, Corsairs, Exiles and Accursed. Primarchs, Ymir's daughters and the mistresses lead them as rare bosses, and they are the main source of Valkyrie armor. The seven ancient bosses wake in Funcom's boss spawns on both maps. All of them are worth big bounty contracts. Most priests of Ymir are Valkyrie priestesses. Slay one, and her sisters may come for you.
